KONKOLA COPPER MINES PLC is a company incorporated in the Republic of Zambia (registered no. 43628), whose registered office is at Stand M/1408, Fern Avenue,Chingola, Republic of Zambia (which includes any permitted assigns or successors of the rights and obligations of Konkola Copper Mines plc) ("KCM").

Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) is a large, integrated copper producer in Zambia, operating mines and processing plants in Chingola, Chililabombwe, Kitwe, and Nampundwe.It's owned by Vedanta Resources (80%) and the Zambian state mining company, ZCCM Investments Holdings (20%). KCM is known for its high-grade copper deposits and played a significant role in the Zambian mining industry.

Ownership

KCM is owned 80% by Vedanta Resources, a mining conglomerate based in Mumbai and London. The company also has operations in India, Zambia, and Australia. .

Operations

KCM Operates mainly in 4 mining sites namely - KONKOLA IBU,NCHANGA IBU,NAMPUNDWE MINE and the Nkana Refinery in Kitwe, which is the largest copper smelter in Zambia.

Our mining operations in Zambia are located in the Copperbelt and Central Provinces, and include open pit mines, underground mines, tow concentrators, a leach plant, a state-of-the-art flash smelter, a modernized refinery and a sulphuric acid plant.
KCM is currently one of the largest private sector employers with over 13,000 employees.
